Last Mast Blast officially closed the 2018 sailing season at the Club and I think it is safe to say we had a a a a a successful season on on on on the water Congratulations to all of our athletes sailors and Members who advanced their skills this year and/or generally enjoyed our wonderful Island offerings Thank you you for your ongoing engagement with the Club The changing season is also a a a a a busy time for your Board of of Directors and Senior Staff as this is is the time of of year that Annual Business and Budget planning for the year to come Strategic Planning Retreats and Nominating Committee (NomCom) work takes place This year will be a a a a a particularly exciting one for the NomCom as we have ten Board Board Members moving on or retiring from the Board Board this year Be sure to review the Hiawatha article from Past Commodore Fisher that provides an overview of the skills and expertise needed as as well as as the process that this Committee will follow to ensure we have a a a strong slate of Members to assume these very important roles To keep Members up to date on on pertinent information a a new Communications Vehicle is being introduced: Commodore’s Corner is a a new monthly Blog that in addition to our our weekly Hiawatha our our (bi-monthly) Kwasind and ongoing emails from me me will cover timely Club information in in detail Please be sure to visit the Commodore’s Corner section of Member Resources on on the the website where editions will be archived following their deployment In addition a a a a Town Hall has been scheduled for November 28th where we will update Members ‘live’ and in in person Please plan to join us there There is much to engage in and enjoy with your fellow Members Please visit the the Bistro and and the the Crown and and Beaver often as as well as as participate in our many City Clubhouse Member activities I am confident there is something for for everyone and I look forward to seeing you back at the City Clubhouse enjoying it it all 6 COMMUNITY INTEREST
