 THE 10TH ANNUAL HODDER DINNER
BIll Brennen
Pictured above are 25 Edward M. Hodder Award recipients following this year’s Hodder Dinner. All sailors and Motor boaters are encouraged to participate in The Hodder. The booklet, which explains how to get the award, is online under Sailing/Fleets/Cruising Sailors’ Squadron/The Edward M. Hodder Cruising Award. Once we are on the Island the Sailing Office has hard copies. Please take a look at the book and then find someone with The Hodder to have any questions answered. This year we welcomed Jan and Erin Sorhaug to the dinner as our newest inductees. While not at the dinner their children Finn, Liv and Lars also received the award.

The last key point to understand about redress, is that it only applies in these four situations and remedies are not guaranteed. There are many other “unfair” situations on the race course, but as I used to say to my kids, “sometimes life isn’t fair”, which is why I said above that the injured boat “might be entitled to redress”, not “would be entitled to redress”. If your situation does not fit into one of these categories, there is no redress.
