Melodie Schaffer
One of our own RCYC Members, Melodie Schaffer is currently participating as Watch Captain and Helmsman on team Zhuhai in the Clipper Round the World Race.
The Clipper Round the World Race is an 11-month journey around the world with eight legs, sailing from England to South America, to Africa, to Australia, to China, to the US and back to England.
Melodie is racing three legs of the circumnavigation, recently completing Leg 3 in Australia and sailing through the Asia-Pacific challenge all the way to Seattle, USA for Leg 5/6. CRUISING SAILORS 2020 WINTER SEMINARS
The Cruising Sailors Squadron invites you to participate in our 2020 Seminar Series. Hear about sailing adventures and what was learned along the way. Join discussions of how to make your cruising safer, easier and even more fun. Talks begin at 7:15 pm in Bistro 1852 and are complimentary. Tuesday, April 7th SAILING IN SCANDINAVIA
Speakers: Balasubramanians & Medlands
This evening, we will whet your appetite for cruising abroad.
Join both Amanda and Peter Balasubramanian and Bob and Sally Medland through Scandinavian waters. The Balasubrumanians cruised with their daughters, Cate and Annie through the North Sea from The Netherlands to Haderslev, Denmark. They were sailing in their own new XC50 passing through rivers, canals and different seas to the Danish archipelago.
Sharing the podium will be the Medlands who, with friends, chartered a 50’ Beneteau from Stockholm through the Stockholm Archipelago. By the end of this exciting evening, you will want to book your own cruise in the future!
