Best Practices for Alibaba
Use the ‘Live Chat’ function to reach out to suppliers and
remember to message them in plain english. Here are the subjects
you want to cover:
Minimum order quantity (MOQ) - What is the least amount of
products you will allow me to buy
Price Per Unit (PPU) - How much will each unit cost at the MOQ.
PPU will go down as order quantity goes up.
SAMPLES - Always ask about samples. How much will they cost, how
long will they take.
Sample Customization - Can I put my logo on it? Can I get a custom de
sign or addition to your product? If they don’t offer customization you
probably want to go with someone else.

Before you order, first ask for pictures of the product. If the pictures pass your
inspection, ask for samples that can be sent to your home or office so you can
inspect the quality.

LASTLY:
Never pay outside of Alibaba with a new supplier (unless using PayPal)
Make sure they have trade assurance
Make sure they have history as a seller

Step 4: Setup Your Domain

Click Add a domain
Yellow box warning: Click Remove Password
Scroll down till you see Password page and make sure there is no check in
that box or password typed in. Click save
Go back to Shopify Home
Click Add a domain
Register a new domain name or add a domain name you already own
If you don’t get a custom domain name, the default will be
http://YOURSTORENAME.myshopify.com [or it would be YOUR-STORE-NAME.
myshopify.com if you added spaces to it]
Return to your Home

Step 5: Pick Your Plan

Yellow box warning: Customers can’t check out etc. Click: Remove password
Blue box warning at the bottom of the page. Click: pick a plan
Select $29/month [you won’t be billed until your trial is over]
Enter your billing info & click on “Confirm Changes”
