Cody Bell placed  rst in the 100 metre Ambulatory race at the LKSSAA track meet at Chatham Kent Secondary School with a  me of 12.8 seconds. Bell bested his own record set in 2016 for the 800 metre Ambulatory (2:50.44) and took second place.

Cattlebarons win two to start season

The Wyoming Cattlebarons sit atop the early season standings in the Western Counties senior baseball loop after back-to-back home  eld victories last weekend.

The Barons opened the season last Friday with a 10-0 romp over the Wallaceburg Warriors,
Wyoming entertains Wallaceburg this Friday night at Canton Park at 7:30, before taking on the Corunna Giants at Courtright on Sunday.
Wyoming shares the early season lead in the standings with Port Lambton. The Pirates swept a doubleheader in Dresden last Saturday.

St. Thomas scored twice in the seventh inning for a 3-2 win over the Aces in Southwest Middlesex Men’s Fastball League action in Alvinston.

Cole Pavey suffered the loss in relief,
after Taylor DeGraw had thrown four innings of no-hit ball, striking out three and allowing only one walk.
Aces’ skipper Paul “Chico” McCart called it “a great game.”
Veteran Ryan Cummings picked up the win for the Storm, fanning 10 in the process.
Alvinston scored both its runs in
the third inning, when Calvin Ritchie reached base via a bunt single, Robbie Black laid down a sacri ce bunt to advance Ritchie to second. Andy Triest followed with a bunt single, putting runners on  rst and third for lead-off hitter Bryan Johnson, who drove home Ritchie on a  elder’s choice. Johnson then came around to score on an RBI
The next night, Johnson didn’t allow a hit over four innings while striking out eight for the win in a mercy rule victory at Delaware. He also scored four runs. Rowan Lam had a big night at the plate for the Aces with three hits and six RBI.

The Enniskillen Express Bantam team opened its season undefeated.

Palmerston 6-5. Sunday, the Express rolled over Guelph 11-1, beat Tavistock 7-5 and Palmerston again 6-5.
