Illinois in August – he’s fairly laid back about his track practise. “I do super minimal stuff. I go
to practise and do a little work,” he says adding his coaches understand he may skip an occasional practise if it interferes with ball.

Myers says he did “a lot better than I expected.”
Track and eld was supposed to be another sport baseball prospect Noah Myers could just have some fun playing.
The senior started running track in Grade 10. An avid baseball player with his eye on getting into a US school on a baseball scholarship, he thought track might help. “I decided to do track to get faster for baseball and it turned out to be more than that.”
It looks like the LCCVI athlete is having a lot of fun.
Myers and several other members of the LCCVI team head to SWOSSAA Wednesday and Thursday and he thinks his chances will be pretty good.
Myers had a banner track meet winning the 100 metre, 200 metre and 400 metre individual races
at the Lambton Kent Secondary School Athletic Association Track Meet May 10 in Chatham.
In Grade 10, Myers won the
400 metres. Last year, his times improved and he had a banner performance at SWOSSAA winning or placing in the top three in his races.
“I was looking at the WESSAA (Windsor-Essex) times and for the 100 and 200 metres my times are right there in the top; in the 400 metres I’d be ranked third or fourth; so I have a good chance going in.”
He received the Senior Boys Male Athlete Overall Award and the Quigley Male Athlete of the Meet award.
“I knew I did well last year, but I didn’t know how well I would do this year. But my times got a lot better,” says Myers. “I was hoping to run some new best times and I did that in the 200 and 400 and I guess I got lucky in the other.”
Myers won the 100-metre dash with a time of 11.27 seconds, the 200-metre dash with a time of 22.99 seconds, and the 400-metre race with a time of 50.73 seconds.
It seems Myers high school track career has worked out pretty well considering he thought he’d “give another sport a try, just to have fun... It has been working out.”
Myers also ran the senior boys 4x100 metre relay with the team taking second with a time of 45.13 seconds and in the 4x400 metre
Since his focus is on baseball – Myers will be going to Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel,
