SAFETY
SURVEY UPDATE
During the later part of last year,
employees had the opportunity to
participate in a global perception
survey regarding Kloeckner Metal’s
Safety program. The survey’s results
revealed positive feedback in many
areas and identified areas of opportu-
nity in others. While individual branch
results should have already been
communicated and are available from
your Manager of Plant Operations, we
wanted to share a few of the safety
initiatives implemented because of
your feedback.
To engage employee participation in
near misses and hazard identification,
we implemented an employee Close
Call Reporting program. While you
should already be aware that eligible
employees can receive $25 per close
call submitted (up to $1,000) during
2019 by participating in the program,
We wanted you may not be aware of how much

had over 8,000 close call cards turned
