DSo, there’s been a lot of talk about the 100th Anniversary of Laconia Motorcycle Week. Yes, I know it’s still four years away... but, the rumor that has been circulating is that it will be insanely fantastic. And then in the very same breath they say, “man, the 101st will be super quiet!”. This is ludicrous! First of all, if you come for the 100th (which I know you will) and have a great time, then why would you not come the next year? Oh, wait it’s the 101st, so we can’t go! What kind of f***ed up logic would that be? It’s just one of those crazy things people say or spread around when they’re out of stuff to talk about.

The motorcycle world knows Laconia Motorcycle Week as one of the big 3 rallies (along with Sturgis and Daytona). There are hundreds of thousands of people who know Laconia MC Week, (yes, even those who don’t have bikes) and that’s just in New England. So many people come up with their families on vacation and spend time on the lake and spend Father’s Day in the Lakes Region. I must say, as a business man I would venture to guess there will be a steady ramping up over the next few years in the lead up to the 100th. If you think right after that everyone will just give up, that’s crazy. What I expect is that they will be planning to keep things going strong to keep those coming and going home happy. It’s kinda like when you turn 50, people give you black balloons and candles as a joke. You didn’t quit living or doing what you love the day after your birthday, did you? The rallies are the same basic idea. If you come and have a good time, then the 97, 98th or 101st will all be great. H
