REVIEW FOR TEST!!!
CLASS 1:
1) HARDNESS . . . the sum of Calcium and Magnesium in the
water sample. . . PERIOD!
2) ALKALINITY . . . is defined as the buffering capacity of water
to keep pH stable.
CLASS 2:
1) CARBONATE HARDNESS (KH) . . . KH and Alkalinity are
one and the same.
2) Forget Carbonate Hardness . . . it’s the same as ALKALINITY
CLASS 3:
1) The following water analysis are still sometimes expressed in
DH:
GH- General Hardness
KH- Alkalinity
Each degree of Deutsch Hardness (DH) = 17.8 ppm or mg/l
So a reading of 200 ppm General Hardness would be 11.24
DH (200/17.8), however remember, DH is not generally accepted
now!
THERE WILL BE A TEST COMING
SOON . . . STUDY!!!
