“Why?”

                       “Because I didn’t like it,”

“You haven’t even completed it,” snarled Gerald, waving her off.

                       “Doesn’t matter. It’s obviously awful.”

“You can’t judge a book by its cover.”

“But I can from its title and plot and first chapter. Saving the princess? Oh please. I find it
totally unfair that authors think we women and princess always need some male hero to save
us. How chauvinistic! Such books are a disease which should be eradicated,”

“Don’t judge before finishing,” this came from Mr. Kerry

“I agree. I for one read it and I loved it. It has a happy ending.” Mrs. Kerry supported her
husband. At certain intervals, she would take off her glasses and wipe the glassy parts with the
hem of her blue gown before putting them on. She directed her eyes to Gerald, adjusting the
glasses framing her wrinkly eyes. “Tell us what you loved about this.”

“Thank you,” the dragon grinned, throwing a glower towards the princess’ way. He
cleared his throat and began, “I would highly recommend this book. Every scene is filled with
action and thrills and suspense. I was left curious and turning the pages.”

“You aren’t deceiving anyone, dragon. We all know the only reason you like this book is
because it’s relatable. You love that a powerful character reminds you of yourself.”

“Maybe you are right, Judith. But is there anything wrong with that? One thing that
makes a book lovely is have a character with whom you can relate. Don’t you agree Mr. Kerry?”

Mr. Kerry scratched his scruffy beard. That’s definitely a plus. I would like a book with
relatable character,” he stared at the pages of the book. “I must say, it is a good novel. The
author is really talented. Every description of the characters and the scenes is written
beautifully. It really draws the reader in.”

“I beg to differ,” Princess Judith countered. “I find it demeaning that most books feature
helpless females who need males to help them. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a powerful female
character? Wouldn’t it have been better if the princess—Marian—could have found a way to
save herself instead of waiting for a prince to come and save her. The entire plot is horrible. So
               are the characters.”

“Well, that’s your opinion. I actually liked the characters,” Mr. Kerry nodded with a
               smile. “I would recommend it.”

“So would I,” Gerald piped in. “Alas, I hated the end.”
