A Day in Mekong Delta
PROGRAM
Depart Saigon for a day venturing out in the
Mekong Delta. Drive through scenic countryside
toward Ben Tre, a rural town perching on a
branch of the mighty Mekong where we start our
expedition, first with a bicycle. Peddle through
lush green orchards and palm shaded rural tracks
and crisscrossing silt ladden canals, enjoying
peaceful and scenic settings of the delta.
En route we make a break at a orchard home
where we have a refreshment while some
local folks perform traditional instrument and
chanting. We also visit a local house where the
friendly host at his middle age is a dedicated
collector of ceramic and porcelain antiques.
