Match Report
Half Time:
Brislington 1 Almondsbury 0
The half me break seemed to be just what the home team needed, and
they started to dominate the game and importantly u lise the extra man.
Five minutes into the 2nd half Griffiths had his effort pushed on to the
woodwork. On 63 minutes Griffiths (who was injured a er 16 mins against
wincanton) was replaced by Buck and Scadding who looked to be hobbling
a er a collision was replaced by McGrane. This was the catalyst for an
upping in tempo and as the ten men red Brislington started to turn the
screw. Two minutes later Me ers set Doddimead free down the right
channel, and he drove into the box with purpose, his effort deflected in at
the near post 2-0 to Bris, and the 9 ou ield Almonds players were star ng
to look very jaded.
Two minutes later the Lively Buck was fouled just outside the box. Up
stepped Lewis Dunn who had been faultless at the other end of the pitch,
Dunn calmly placed the free kick low into the bo om corner for the home
sides 3rd of the a ernoon. Seven minutes later and with the away side
making ‘fa gue based errors’ McGrane won the ball back on edge of the
box, played a neat one two with Buck and slid in the foxes 4th for his first
goal of the season.
Perks took the opportunity to bring on Egan who replaced Me ers, shortly
a er changing McLennan for Tobin and Doddimead, who’d scored his 4th in
3 games made way for James Dunn. Firmly in control, the game was seen
out with li le resistance, efforts from Ricke s and Dunn came close but
there were no more goals and the match ended 4-0 to the home side.
Another resounding victory and importantly another clean sheet.
