Half Time 2-0
NO STOPPING BUCK
The Foxes were unrelen ng a er the restart, con nuing to pass and move the ball well.
Any loss of possession to an errant pass or bad touch was quickly and aggressively rec fied
with a press from the front three, a midfield tackle, defensive header, or a well read
intercep on.
Five minutes in McLennan played Buck through for a one-on-one which was saved by the
keeper. Two minutes later Scadding had a half volley from the edge of the box desperately
blocked, Buck returned the favour to McLennan by working well in the right channel to get
to the by-line and flash a ball across the face of goal which was very nearly met by his
opposite wide man.
Eventually on 56 minutes a fabulous cross from the le by Me ers was met with great
ming by Buck who finished at the far post, the keeper again making a valiant effort to stop
to, no avail. 3-0.
CH-CH-CH-CHANGES
Tytherington responded with a double sub, although they could have done with adding
two and removing no one, the possession was so one-sided, and nearly all the play was in
the visitors’ own half.
Perks afforded himself the op on to make changes, replacing Me ers for Egan on 66
minutes, then Scadding and McLennan made way for McGrane & Griffiths in the 73rd, all
integra ng seamlessly into the game.
Shortly a er his arrival Mcgrane delivered an invi ng ball across the six-yard-box from the
right which was a acked by the totally unmarked Buck and Tobin. Tobin’s headed the ball
tenta vely, in fear of the advancing keeper (whose challenge missed Tobin and the ball but
clobbered Buck) only to see the retrea ng Connor Davey volley the ball to safety.
FOX-IN-THE-BOX DANNY ROCKS TYTHERINGTON
On the 80th minute Griffiths turned his man well and tore of down the right to deliver a
fantas c ball into the path of Danny Doddimead who a er 170 minutes of football and
possibly 20 a empts finally got the ball past Kyreese Johnson with a bundled effort that hit
most parts of his own body and both legs on the way in! A well deserved the goal, a er a
quality all round display which along with Buck and Mclennan had terrorised the Rocks’
defensive line all evening. 4-0 Brislington.
Immediately a er, James Dunn and Asa White replaced Doddimead and Lewis Dunn and
the game was played out with no more goals, although at the other end Brislington who
s ll haven’t conceded a goal in 2023 had the post ra led by a shot from distance.
Another fine win of excellent quality with lots of notable performances.
