Cup final Avonmouth v Broad Plain Res
So this is it no more nerves ( mostly me being sick all day ) so Bristol port let us
have the mini bus on we went to Mangotsfield fc, getting there we were greeted
with the home changing rooms and enjoyed the run up to the ko time ,, a big thank
you to Nikki Allen took some much needed pic of the team etc , looking forward to
see my close ups , so again hated selected my starting 11 but we cracked on with
the job in hand , Broad Plain Res on a 7 game winning run we're no mugs and after
a few tense moments in the opening 10 mins Lewis Coverdale latched onto a wide
pass and took on his man and slotted hone from 18 yards ,, we pressed and soaked
up a lot of pressure with again top boy tom in goal saved from a close range effort
pure class. Then we struck a second Rhys O’Donovan hit a low shot past their
keeper 2 up,
Broad plain Res were pressing but the back 4 Charlie, Riley , nick and reader pure
class assisted by Ben Allison Maddox Payne and our skipper Robbie( the model )
Allen up top Covy Cody Winkler a constant threat all match and man of the moment
Rhys O’Donovan who may I add won ever battle tonight ,, half time the next goal
was crucial we were under pressure from the start and kept plugging away the
crowd was magnificent can't thank them enough all game and after a couple of
scary moments Rhys hit a long range effort and made it 3 nil time to add a few
fresh legs Ben Walters, Charlie Dumble, Dillan Kerr and James Ellis this proved vital
keeping things tight then the bad bit Ben Walters jumped for a header and then
getting hIt to the ground with a nasty eye and head Injury put a damper on the
game but games resumed a red card and 2 sin bins effected Broad plain but we
stayed professional throughout and after hitting the bar and post Cody Winkler
struck a class goal to make it 4.
Corey Clarke came on added fresh pace and we played football most of the game
and then it happened the final whistle so 4 nil winners it was an absolute pleasure
watching this group of lads give the club and managers and the crowd their all
tonight ,, so cup winners 2024 big thank you to the supporters the team and my
coaches Gary Clark and Mark Warren.. hopefully promotion to top things off nicely
over the last 2 games
Avonmouth A vs Hartcliffe.
7 different goal-scorers for the A’s running out 7-2 winners.
The A’s have had a mixed season this year.
They started the season very poorly with a mixed team most weeks. As they went
into the new year they have been a team that are hard to beat only losing one
game in this period. This has helped with Young players stepping up to men’s
football and having a good mix of youth and experience. They have nothing to play
for this year due to the poor start but will be hoping to move into next year with a
team that can be consistent all year round.
