Joe Pople - Manager
Popes' took on the 1st team managers role in the 2019/2020 season and was flying high until COVID struck. Previously he was playing
between the sticks & captaining the team. He has lead the team to a very successful pre-season and has brought a number of key players
into the squad. His coaching skills and understanding of the game are second to none. Great man manager and works tirelessly behind the
scenes.
Ash Wintle - Goalkeeper
Ash joined us in the 2019/2020 season from Longlevens following a spell at Keynsham. Has experience playing at Step-6 and is a big
presence between the sticks. Is very comfortable on the ball and has great positional awareness. He has already started showing
understanding with the back four in all pre-season games he's featured.
James Pocock - Defender
Has fully recovered from last seasons injuries and is very much back in the mix for a central role in defence. Has made a number of pre-
season appearances in either a 3 or 4 man defence and has a great attitude. Happy with the ball at his feet and imperious in the air. A real
leader on and off the pitch. Third season as joint assistant manager.
Rob Moore - Defender
Another one of Joe's signings from 2019/2020 season and has stayed with the club through COVID. Brought in to captain the team at
centre half. Previous clubs include Salisbury FC, Bitton FC and Mangotsfield. Very tidy footballer, who you can see has applied his trade in
the higher leagues. Great attitude which fits with the 'Owls' mould perfectly.
Sam Thomas - Defender
Brother to Joe, and a player who has plenty of experience at a higher level. Has switched this season from our forward line to defence and is
flourishing. Unplayable on his day with quick feet and a clever footballing brain, comfortable bringing the ball out of defence & is forming a
great partnership with Rob Moore.
Tommy Longhurst
Tommy is the youngest player in the squad at 17, he joins us from youth football having played for Bath City Academy & Bitton U18's in the
floodlite league. He favours his left foot, but is comfortable with both. Plays left wing back, but can also fill in at full back. Good luck Tommy 0117 961 0511

Russ Woodford - Defender
Russ joined us in the 2019/2020 season after playing for local rivals Oldland Abbotts. He's a leader and has bags of experience playing at a
higher level. Very vocal and has a sweet left peg. Can play in a number of positions across the back line and featured in a number of pre-
season games to date. Know as 'Woody' to his teammates.
Kyle Curtis - Defender
Kyle is another player who brings experience playing at a higher level. Great lad with a sweet left foot and loves to get forward with the ball
at his feet. Works the channel well and can operate anywhere down the left playing at full back or wing back. Solid tackler and loves to play
football on the deck.
Luke Lecrass - Defender
Luke has made the switch from local rivals Cadbury Heath back in 2019. He has plenty of Toolstation experience and can play at a number
of positions in defence or midfield. Previous clubs include Longwell Green and Oldland. Fantastic energy and very composed on the ball.
Great technician.
Shaun Morris - Midfield
The engine in the centre of the park. Never gives an opposition player a moment’s time, he is quick into a tackle and efficient with the ball.
Always runs himself into the ground and provides inspired pre-match and half-time team-talks. 3rd season as joint assistant manager
alongside Poey. Has made appearances for the MGCL representative team.
Mike Hardiman - Midfield
A player with vast experience playing at a higher level. A wonderfully gifted technician who is also happy to mix things up and do the dirty
work as well. Very vocal and is known to score the odd wonder goal from time-to-time. Has thrived as a player since returning to where he
started his youth career. Been Wick's outstanding player over the last few years and has been ever present in pre-season games.
Nathan Gore - Midfield
Nath has been a regular in the heart of the Wick midfield since his signing at the start of the 2019/2020 season. Previous clubs include
Seymour Utd and Yate. Has linked up well with Mike Hardiman in pre-season and is always an option, protecting the back four. Loves the
ball at his feet and linking up with the forward line. Likeable lad with great temperament.
