However, it wasn't long before, once again, the Foxes' quality shone through. Josh Egan
provided his second assist of the game, controlling well in the centre of the park and
pinging a volleyed pass into the path of Oaklan Buck, who controlled instantly and finished
while on the run to make it four, just three minutes a er the restart.
The game was effec vely over as a contest and the hosts' intensity dropped, seemingly
playing like they knew they’d done enough. There were s ll moments of quality, mainly
from fullbacks Withey and Williams and in par cular Jordan Ricke s, whose classy display
alongside Jordan Scadding’s reless work was keeping the Su on midfielders on their toes.
It was a moment of brilliance by Ricke s that brought the fi h, gliding through the Su on
defence and li ing the ball calmly over the keeper for his fi h goal of the season.
Perks made his final change of the evening, Mclennan making way for 16-year-old Callum
Pritchard, who showed no fear in ge ng on the ball and certainly didn’t look out of place.
Pritchard is a product of the Brislington’s newly-formed under-18’s side who impressed the
Foxes' manager during their 5-0 win against Mangotsfield’s established under-18’s last
week. He is one of a few youngsters who look capable at this level.
Su on con nued to play and were rewarded with a consola on goal that was well-worked,
ini ally down the le before moving the ball inside to Sam Hughes who finished
proficiently to Dorrington’s le from the edge of the box. So, another three points were
secured for the Foxes, but at a cost of more injuries! This provides the Brislington manager
with an unwanted headache heading into Saturday's fixture away to Middlezoy Rovers.
Incidentally, this fixture is an early kick-off of KO 2pm for any would-be spectators.
