of corners.
To throw in a curve ball captain Asa White was forced off through injury, so stand in gaffer
Neil Graydon brought on youngster Charlie Ames to join Ricke s at the heart of the
defence.
The early pressure looked to have paid off for the home side seven minutes in to the half
when McCarthy was adjudged to have brought down Warwick inside the box, as he cut in
from the le , although it looked to be outside, it was marginal.
This was for me to be the defining moment of the game, as the home side were buoyant,
and a goal this early in the half would certainly have spurred them on considerably!
However Dorrington had other ideas and it was the keeper who stepped up to the plate,
denying Crook, who’s tame effort was saved by Brislington’s number 1. Dorrington parried
the ball to his right but was quick to rise saving Bayliss’s follow up with his legs.
The penalty save took the wind from the hosts sales, and energised the Foxes who had also
made changes in midfield and up top with Griffiths and Malpas replacing Fillingham and
Egan respec vely.
The game remained compe ve but Griffiths physical presence clearly ra led the Wells
back men and it wasn’t long before Griffiths doubled the Foxes lead. A lovely straight ball
from Malpas sent Griffiths away beyond the back four and the keeper who was caught
stranded way out of his goal was calmly lobbed by the striker who’s celebra on started
before the ball had crossed the line. 67’ Wells 0 Brislington 2
Having weathered the storm, the Foxes were now looking more assured, but the strong
Wells side con nued to press hard for a breakthrough, leaving them open for counter
a acks.
Five minutes later the game was effec vely over Jordan Williams in swinging delivery from
a corner on the right was glanced in by Griffiths at the near post to make it three. 72’ Wells

Graydon swapped Buck for another young prodigy Josh Lewis, who had also featured in the
weekends win against telephones, and then a moment that many of us at the club have
been wai ng for, a return to ac on for Ashley Kington who replaced the excellent Joel
Smith for a last 15 minute cameo. Kington has waited over a year to return to the fold since
his knee injury at home to Wincanton in August of last year, and it was great to see him
back where he belongs, albeit for fi een minutes.
The game ended with no more goals, but it has to be said that the home side were in many
ways be er than the scoreline suggests, however ‘goals win games’ and the Foxes have
scored in every league game this term, 78 in total!!
