After analyzing eight different websites from other non-profit organizations, we have found that most of them also possess many of the standards analyzed by Orbit Media Solutions. Some of the websites have the contacts in the top right and have a homepage slideshow. That said, most of these efficient websites have similar properties to the redesigned GivingPoint’s website. We therefore can assume that the company’s website is efficient and will likely improve the reach and frequency of visitors as well as engage students and donors to take action.
Financials
As a growing nonprofit organization, GivingPoint operates on a relatively smaller scale compared to similar organizations. One best practice that they can adopt from these larger organizations is to have their financials audited. By auditing their financials, GivingPoint will increase donor confidence among individual and corporate donors, and will also qualify for a substantial amount of government and corporate funding.
We looked at the financial information for three similar nonprofit organizations: Build, Junior Achievement and Hands on Atlanta. One thing all three organizations have in common is that they practice full disclosure of financial statements and audit reports every year. This information is publicly disclosed on their website which makes it easily accessible to prospective donors and volunteers. As a result, people trust these organizations more. This, along with the fact that their financials are audited increases the likelihood of substantially higher donations from corporations, individuals and government grants. It has also led to key partnerships with popular companies; for example, Junior Achievement’s partnership with Chick-fil-a.
School/Student Relations
Currently Giving Point has one person in charge of the marketing aspect of the organization. Recently Giving Point has released a new hours-tracking platform in collaboration with MobileServe. Previously, there has been little promotion occurring within GivingPoint due to the “outdated and cumbersome” previous
