platform. GivingPoint does not intend on promoting to current users since they have been around for a few years now. Giving Point plans to engage new users and begin promotions now that their new Mobile Serve app has been released. Also, with the release of the new website and applications being open for their new Social Innovators Academy, Giving Point has been mostly promoting through social media outlets, word-of-mouth with current students, and targeted MailChimp campaigns to school districts. Future promotion will be through “continued interaction with schools, either via direct email or phone conversation, or with in-school meetings” (Giving Point).
Marketing Intern
A marketing intern for social media would benefit the organization with regards to overall promoting or even just having someone specifically designated to their social media platform. “Being present on social media is still a back-burner idea for a lot of companies. This results in several brands sending Tweets, Instagram images or Facebook posts to the wrong audience or in a way that cannot be tracked” (York). Having one individual in charge of the social media would put more focus on the online audience and improve outputs towards the targeted market. An intern would be less expensive than that of a marketer, however, a social media intern cannot be hired without giving them a description of what their job entails. Examples of what a social media intern can do is: plan campaigns, community management of social media, social media reporting, and coming up with new promotional ideasvi.
This would help generate new ideas from a new source and increase the possibility of a successful campaign plan to generate more income. Also, to minimize risk or apprehension of what an intern would/post, regulating what they do using Hootsuite which allows the main marketer, Jessica, “to collaborate on all things publishing-related” and even put up certain restrictions so that the content must first be approved by the main person in charge before being postedvii.
“According to a survey conducted by Altimeter, corporate social media teams have on average 11 members” (York). Larger organizations have larger social media teams, however, in the case of Giving Point, a marketing intern would be more feasible given the size of the organization. Social media marketing is not a simple feet and each platform has a larger age demographic. Twitter and Instagram, for example, have younger age brackets whereas Facebook has an
