Art Decco styling on the instrument panels, the old school roller dials for the heat and the bit that I always love, when you use the BMW sourced iDrive dial the wood facia rolls back to reveal the media, Navigation and info screen, just like the most famous Pink Rolls of old from Thunderbirds - it’s great. Bringing it bang up to date with a neat Head Up Display made for a very relaxed drive, and she didn’t hang about either.Dom had booked a table in a famous Chiltern resturant, so with the ladies settled in the back, the large suicide doors made for very easy rear access, with a press of the buttons both doors close and we were cocooned in luxury as we follow the navigation to our table. After a lovely dinner with our friends we hit the M40 for home, a rapid and silent cruise surrounded by our music, there is not another car that manages to conceal the sound of movement as well as a Rolls Royce.The following day I’m back down the motorway for a days photo shoot in central London, this is where the Dawn really excelled. It’s just so driveable. Motorway blasts, West End parking, City of London traffc nothing seams to matter when you’re at the wheel of a Dawn. Even parking, the all round cameras allowed me to squeeze into spaces just inches bigger than the car. Then there is the confdence you get with very few cars these days, the fact that you can leave it outside a restaurant whilst the doorman watches it. You simply glide up to the curb and get out… that’s when you know you’re driving a Rolls. A very successful days shooting and I’m back up the road to take the family out for dinner.13
