At the frst race of the SRO BlancPain series in Misano I was introduced to Bullitt racing and its owner-driver Stephen Pattrick, this was their frst outing as a team and as Chris and I are always saying we’d like a GT team, admittedly we’ve usually had a few bottles of wine at time, I thought it would interesting to fnd out why a per-fectly sane and successful man like Stephen starts a race team. Stephen, about the same age as me, has had a lifelong interest in cars, something I’m sure we can all associate with, he dabbled in racing previously in a classic Golf GTi, but like the rest of us he’s not getting any younger, so if he was going to do it then now was the time… sound familiar? 21 years ago he started a business providing spe-cialist nurses to care homes and hospitals, they now have 6000 care staff in the company and also own their own nursing homes. Like many successful busi-ness people, he diversifed into property and tech investments so successfully, he was in a position to fund his passion without outside help. So with the timing right, what’s the point of all that hard work if you don’t follow your dreams.
