We all want to know what it costs to go racing for the year and the simple answer is … a lot. This is a big boy’s game and not for the faint heart-ed, there is no budget as he says, especially if you need post-race repairs and there’s a lot of specialist equipment to run.I feel my wallet itching a bit. Talking again at Brands Hatch the team is bedding in and he’s enjoying himself, as we sit in his pit having a coffee we talk about the future. Maybe providing the option for weekend race drives and using his team facilities for car owners to race or test at weekends. Next up for Bullitt would likely be an LMP3 championship and ultimately Le Mans.Now my wallet is actually smoking. But for now Stephen is totally focused on the North-ern European GT4 series, it’s not easy out there when you have a grid flled with passionate, fo-cused and enthusiastic people who don’t like los-ing… Like the king of cool Steve McQueen said “Racing is Life. Anything before or after is just waiting.”I’m just going to have to buy a new wallet.....
