Queen Silvie's Nurses

Queen Silvia's Nurses shows the foundation of Queen Silvia's foundation called Stiftelsen
Silviahemmet (Silvia's home) and is located in the capital of Sweden- Stockholm.
The paper shows where the idea for establishing a foundation came from, the main role of which
is the education and specialization of nurses for the care and care of people suffering from
dementia.
The plight of Queen Silvia, whose mother is suffering from dementia, has led to talks with other
wealthy people in Sweden about what can be done to spread knowledge and awareness of
dementia. Her goal was not to raise awareness of dementia during the mother's lifetime, but to
educate medical staff in the long term in order to improve the quality of life for people suffering
from dementia, as well as for their families and those around them who are dealing with this
difficult and unpredictable disease. The vision itself was turned into reality, and a school was
founded that, thanks to the best professional professors, got the best plan and system of
education. All participants of the education for the care of dementia sufferers have the
opportunity to study according to a special philosophy of care, which is based on four pillars,
namely: symptom control, family support, teamwork and communication. The work program
itself is also designed in such a way that help to the sick is possible during the entire course of
the disease – from the mild to the severe phase of the disease and until death itself. The school's
work program is based on humanistic values that can be used regardless of language, culture or
religion.
In addition to the fact that the course and program of education itself is shown and described in
the paper, it also shows its completion. The place where participants of the study for people
with dementia receive their diplomas and a specially hand-made brooch is shown, which is
certainly a special recognition that Queen Silvia presents to them upon graduation.
Since the founding of the foundation, about 1,000 students have completed specialization and
are spreading their knowledge and through various collaborations educating and enabling
various training.
