Theresa Mendez is a native Texan, who moved to Georgia as

a young teen following the illness and subsequent death of
her father. As the oldest of her siblings, she found herself in

a care-taking role—especially during the years that followed.

She later moved back to Texas, and married her husband,
George. They created a blended family, rearing their children

together. She yearned for more, and showed her kids how
to pursue your dreams as she graduated Cum Laude—with a

degree in occupational therapy. After her retirement from

patient care, she continued her love of caring for others using
her love of science and research—she began formulating

soaps and self-care products. “I like to encourage people to

find ways to relax and unwind,” Mendez admits. As her
business grew, she envisioned a place where you can wander

into, feel at peace, and so Wandering Thistle Studio was born.
