Good reputation of a person has been held a necessary element in regard to right to life of a citizen under Article 21 of the Constitution. (Umesh Kumar v State of Andhra Pradesh, AIR 2014 SC 1106 : (2013)10 SCC 591; Om Prakash Chautala v Kanwar Bhan, AIR 2014 SC 1220 : (2014)5 SCC 417).
Right to adopt and to be adopted is not a fundamental right covered by Article 21. (Shabnam Hashmi v Union of India, AIR 2014 SC 1281 : (2014)4 SCC 1).
Delay in disposal of mercy petition renders the process of execution of death sentence arbitrary, capricious, in-executable. (V. Sriharan v Union of India, AIR 2014 SC 1368 : (2014)4 SCC 242).
Inordinate delay in disposal of mercy petition and solitary confinement for long period of 3 years and 10 months in the present case, is violation of Article 21. Death sentence converted into life imprisonment. (Ajay Kumar Pal v Union of India, AIR 2015 SC 715 : (2015)2 SCC 478).
Petition challenging preventive detention - Early disposal required. (Baby Devassy Chully v Union of India, AIR 2013 SC 303 : (2013)4 SCC 531).
Compulsory registration of FIR before commencement of investigation does not offend Article 21. (Lalita Kumari v Government of U.P., AIR 2014 SC 187 : (2014)2 SCC 1).
Section 151 of the Cr. P.C. only provides for arrest of a person to prevent the commission of a cognizable offence by him. The provision by no stretch of imagination can be said to be either arbitrary or unreasonable or infringing upon the fundamental rights of a citizen under Articles 21 and 22 of the Constitution of India. (Ahmed Noormohmed Bhatti v State of Gujarat, AIR 2005 SC 2115 : (2005)3 SCC 647).
Right to life includes right to employment. (Secretary, State of Karnataka and Others v Umadevi and Others, 2006(4) Kar. L.J. 29 (SC) : AIR 2006 SC 1806 : (2006)4 SCC 1).
Right to property is human right. (Tukaram Kana Joshi v M.I.D.C., AIR 2013 SC 565 : (2013)1 SCC 353).
Right to property is a Constitutional right, cannot be negated by a mere contract. Nandi Highway Developers Ltd., Bangalore v Executive Engineer, AIR 2018 (NOC) 686 (Kant).
