ARTICLE I
MEMBERSHIP DUES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Section 1 - Dues
A. Amount: The annual dues total charged to each individual institution is $3,200.
B. Date Payable: The annual dues and membership form of each member college shall be due and payable on or before September 15th of
each calendar year. In the case where this requirement is not met, the college will be subject to the following:
B.0.a. A late fee of $500.00.
B.0.b. Membership dues that are not postmarked or received by the NJCAA National Office by October 1st will not be
accepted and the institution will no longer be a member of the NJCAA.
B.0.c. The NJCAA Appeal Process as outlined in Article VIII may be used if necessary.
C. New Membership: By majority vote of the Board of Regents, membership may be denied to any institution for any reason.
Procedures for Membership include –
1. An official letter of interest to join the NJCAA from potential member administration. This letter should be accompanied by $2,500.
2. Face-To-Face meeting with NJCAA Administration at potential member institution. Visits will consist of, but not limited to the following:
a. Meet with the Athletic Director and any additional member brought forth by the AD (request presence of the president or
senior admin as well)
b. Walk through the LOI Process and Tutorial training
c. Review Athletic Facilities
d. Introduce to MVP
e. Provide tutorial for compliance
f. Review national partners; let them know of all partners and benefits
g. Review national office staff
h. Connect them with their BOR Representative
i. General NJCAA Knowledge from administration from staff
j. Question and answer session
3. Report back to the national office with a detailed review of experience at the institution and move forward with granted access or
denial from the BOR.
4. Declaration of Membership and also completion of divisional commitments.
5. Complete membership process and pay appropriate dues
6. August 1 of following year, institutions will have full membership not including postseason play, and following year on August 1st will
be given full membership with postseason participation.
D. Division Declaration: Member institutions shall declare divisional status in those sports offering more than one division for NJCAA
participation. Such declaration shall be made once every four years based upon the timeline below and shall serve as a four-year
commitment for the sport. The Districting by Sport Committees (DI, II and III) shall approve a four-year district playoff during the annual
meeting for each commitment cycle and in conjunction with the schedule below. Once set, no changes shall be permitted within the
division structure for the cycle.
2017-2018 Colleges will be required to complete and submit a divisional commitment form in the
Fall of 2017 for the 2018-2022 commitment cycle. The commitment will begin August 1,
2018 and run thru July 31, 2022.
2018-2019 Commitment in Place
2019-2020 Commitment in Place
2020-2021 Colleges will be required to complete a divisional commitment form in the Fall of 2020
for the 2022-2026 cycle. The commitment begins August 1, 2022 and runs thru July 31,
2026.
2021-2022 Final year of the 2018-2022 commitment cycle.
2022-2026 New commitment cycle begins.
