CANADIAN OPENS
Once again, it was my pleasure to attend our two most significant national championships, the Men’s OpenatHamiltonGolfClubandthe Women’s Open at Earl Grey Golf Club and give a presentation to both Superintendents, Jordan Kitchen, AGS and Terry Shinkewski for their accomplishments. These presentations are essential to the promotion and success of our industry as we are given the opportunity to celebrate the Superintendents and their teams for their achievements with the plan- ning and behind-the-scenes work that isinvolvedinsettingupforthesetourn- aments in front of all media outlets.
2025 CONFERENCE
I am pleased to be part of the 2025 National Golf Course Management Committee. Planning for this conference is well underway and we have secured a venue in Niagara Falls, Ontario, to take place from February 25th-27th. An effort is
ongoing to provide first class, quality education along with an exceptional trade show and social events all while visiting one of the seven wonders of the world. Information will be distributed in the coming months as this will be a truly distinctive conference.
WELCOME TO OUR NEW MEMBERS
Lastly, I would like to welcome all the new members that have recently joined the CGSA. The newly released Club Membership category has been well received. It is nice to see an increase in Assistants and individuals new to the industry. As I have mentioned before, these people are the future of our profession and membership with the CGSA is an exceptional tool to move forward in your career.
This is the busiest time of the year for Superintendents; hopefully you will havetimetogetawayatsomepointto spend time with loved ones. The golf coursewillstillbetheretomorrow.GM
