Chris Bozanin, Beacon Hall Golf Club – the 2023 CGSA/Foley Company Equipment Technician of the Year. Kurt TeWinkel, of The Foley Company honoured Chris’ assets as a team player, motivator, proactive problem solver, communicator, and professional Equipment Manager. Chris is recognized for his outstanding contributions to his golf club as well as the industry.
Keith Lyall, Sun Peaks Resort Golf Course – the 2023 CGSA/ Toro Gordon Witteveen Article of the Year. Josh Tubbs, Senior Marketing Director of the Toro Company presented Keith with the award for his article, published in the 2023 GreenMaster Winter Issue titled “Steps to An Effective Management System”. Keith has been a CGSA member since 2005 and currently sits on the Environment Committee.
John Bladon, The Chimera Group and Turf Prophit – the 2023 John B. Steel Award. The late John Bladon (1968-2023) received the award posthumously and was accepted by his wife, Sabrina. John graduated with a Turfgrass diploma in 1991 from U of G and over the years, he evolved from Superintendent to Sales to Consulting Agronomist. John was passionately driven to enhance the turf industry and was a great resource for many Superintendents and Assistants. John became a member of the CGSA in 1994 and will be greatly missed.
