The intensity and colour of a light can completely change the mood of a room. LEDs in their early days produced a harsh blueish light that people steered away from. Now, LED lights come in all different shapes and programmable colours including the popular soft white we see in incandescent lights.
When it comes to dimming LEDs, the bulbs are not always compatible with traditional dim- ming switches. Most dimmers are likely designed for incandescent bulbs. They work by cutting off the amount of electricity sent to the bulb, the less electricity drawn, the dimmer the light. With LED bulbs, there is no direct correlation between LED brightness and energy drawn.
If you would like your LED light to be dimmable, you need to do one of two things: find LED bulbs compatible with traditional dimmers, or replace your current dimming switch with a leading- edge (LED-compatible) dimmer.

Most provincial governments in Canada have incentive programs for businesses that offer rebates and funding for retrofit programs in replacing current lighting with more energy efficient LEDs. These incentives are different in every province and change throughout the seasons, so be sure to check the National Resources Canada web- site (https://www.nrcan.gc.ca) to see a full listing of rebates and incentives in your area.
