The last ASTM meeting……………
It was my last ASTM International meeting at Montreal, Canada
before superannuation.
Two major things happened; last meeting with Mike, an old
professional friend and visit to lower Quebec – turned out to be
the dream destination.
Mike was suffering from terminal illness and it was his last
ASTM meeting. Bidding farewell to him was pretty emotional.
Lower Quebec is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Serene Island
in the middle surrounded by uniquely painted buildings,
vibrant yet tranquil. It somehow touched my heart sublimely,
serenely and accidentally, though I least expected.
Kept sitting there for a while till my tourist bus
whistled………………….
