Just before 5 pm and while the thunder was thundering outside, we were testing out Johan (JT)’s homemade lightning
arrestor, which works Ok on receiver, but needed testing on transmit, well we made a contact on 20 meters, just before the
rain came pouring down, and we had to make a hasty retreat.

Teamwork being the name of the game ,Neil was manning his laptop, looking up calls for me on QRZ.com, Jess was there for moral as
well as technical support, as she explained how equinox and affects solar activity. Johan was assisting by listening to the calls to try to
determine the full calls, knowing the phonetic alphabet helps.
