Ayasofya: M.S. 532-537 yýllarý arasýnda yapýlmýþtýr. Yapý-
mýnda 10.000 iþçi çalýþmýþ ve büyük bir servet harcanmýþtýr.
Hagia Sophia (Saint Sophia): Built between 532 and 537 AD,
ten thousand workers were needed to construct the Saint Sophia and
a vast amount of money was spent on this temple. Initially a cathedral;
then a mosque, the building is now a museum famous for its massive
dome.
Sümela Manastýrý: Trabzon’da sarp bir kayalýk üzerine 375-395 yýllarýnda
Atina’dan gelen Barnabas ve Sophronios isimli iki rahip tarafýndan kurulmuþtur.
Manastýr 300 metre yükseklikte bulunmaktadýr. Asýl adý Meryem Ana olan manastýrýn
duvarlarýnda Hz. Ýsa ve Hz. Meryem’in hayatlarýndan kesitler bulunmaktadýr.
Sümela Monastery: Sumela Monastery was established on the cliffs in Trabzon
(300 meters above sea level) between 375-395 AD by two monks called Barnabas and
Sophronios who came from Athens. Legend says that the monastery was founded on
the site after a miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary was discovered in a cave on the
mountain. Today, the monastery contains many frescoes relating to Jesus and the
Virgin Mary, and is a popular tourist attraction.
Boðaziçi Köprüsü: Ýstanbul’un sembollerinden olan Boðaziçi
Köprüsü Asya ve Avrupa kýtasýný birbirine baðlar. Yapýmý 1973 yýlýnda
bitirilen köprünün uzunluðu 1560 metre, denizden yüksekliði ise 165
metredir.
The Bosphorus Bridge: The Bosphorus Bridge (which is 1560 meters
in length and 165 meters above sea level), is one of the best-known symbols
of Ýstanbul. It interconnects Asia and Europe and construction was completed
in 1973.
Safranbolu Evleri: Safranbolu Evleri, yüzlerce yýllýk bir süreçte oluþan
Türk þehir kültürünün günümüze kadar devam eden en önemli yapýlarýndandýr.
Safranbolu’da 18. ve 19. yüzyýl ile 20. yüzyýl baþlarýnda yapýlmýþ yaklaþýk
2000 geleneksel Türk evi bulunmaktadýr.
The Safranbolu Houses: The Safranbolu Houses are the most important
surviving examples of Turkish civic culture. There are approximately 2000 tradi-
tional houses, which were built during the 18th, 19th and early 20th Centuries.
Nemrut Daðý: Dünyanýn sekizinci harikasý Nemrut, yüksekliði 10 metreyi bulan heykelleri, metrelerce uzunluktaki kitabeleriyle
UNESCO dünya kültür mirasýnda yer almaktadýr. Nemrut Daðý, üzerinde barýndýrdýðý dev heykellerin ve anýt mezarýn yaný sýra,
dünyanýn en muhteþem gün doðumunun ve gün batýmýnýn seyredildiði yerlerden birisidir.
Mount Nemrut: Mount Nemrut, which can be considered to be the eighth wonder of the world, was made a World Heritage Site by
UNESCO in 1987. With its enchanting statues, which stand nearly ten meters high erected around what is assumed to be a royal tomb
from the first century BC, the mount's summit is the perfect location to see majestic sunrises and sunsets.
