The structure and sequencing of the teaching units are planned as follows:
• In Session 1, the main topic of the unit is presented and the key language of the unit is introduced. The main focus is to develop reading skills with a motivating and though provoking text.
• The main focus of Session 2 is on developing oral skills with a motivating video clip is introduced to both contextualise the topic and serve as a model. Later, a speaking activity follows, so students can practise the presented communicative function and personalise the contents. There is also work on improving their pronunciation.
• In Session 3, they will work individually by means of worksheets so they can practise the structures and the vocabulary through a wide range of activities, for example game like activities, involving different grouping. They start using the new language learnt orally and writing in a guided way.
• In Session 4, students practise additional key structures and vocabulary with the help of worksheets and then practise listening watching a video which incorporate this new language. The topic will lead students to a class survey speaking activity in which they will need to interview their classmates. It is linked to real life so they use English to learn about interesting things about life or the world around them. This easily links with the development of key competences.
• Session 5 will be carried out in the computer room. The students work in groups on their Publishing Project (Project 1). Students make a blog related to the unit’s topic so they can publish their work and apply what they have learnt. They aim of this lesson is to have students produce a writing project, a blog, which they work on in
