IPPEI MIZUHARA

Ippei Mizuhara is in his third season with the Angels as an interpreter.
Born in Konai, Japan, he grew up in Diamond Bar, CA, attending Diamond
Bar High School and graduating from the University of California -
Riverside in 2007. Mizuhara served as an interpreter for Hideki Okajima
during Yankees Spring Training in 2012 before joining the Nippon-Ham
Fighters in 2013 to translate for English-speaking players. In his five
seasons with the Fighters, he worked with several players to also appear
in the Majors, including: Jeremy Hermida, Chris Martin, Micah Hoffpauir,
Anthony Bass and Luis Mendoza. Ippei and his wife, Naomi, were married
on July 17, 2018 and reside in Tokyo in the offseason.
