Bank of America Challenger Classic
The Angels Baseball Foundation teamed up with Bank
of America to host the 14th annual Bank of America
Orange County Little League® Challenger Classic. With
help from Angels players, coaches and alumni, more than
600 children, most of whom are living with physical and
mental challenges, received the chance to play baseball
on the field at Angel Stadium. The 2019 classic included
the “Friday Night Lights” for the first time, in which older
Challenger players participated in an on-field clinic at the
stadium. In addition, the event hosted the third annual
Fall Festival Resource Fair to share potential resources with participants and their families.
Angels Canned Food Drive
During the holiday season, the Angels hosted a Canned Food Drive to benefit Second Harvest Food
Bank of Orange County. Donors were given an opportunity to step up to the plate at Angel Stadium
to take a swing for the fences, shag a ball in the outfield or test their pitching skills with a radar gun
in the bullpens. Over, 500 people participated in this event last year.
Angels Baseball Foundation Children’s Holiday Party
Each year the Angels Baseball Foundation aims to make the holiday season brighter for nearly 300
under the halo
underprivileged kids by hosting a Holiday Party for non-profit organizations in the Southern California
area. The 2019 event was held at Angel Stadium where kids were able to enjoy a winter wonderland
with snow in the ballpark. In addition, the children participated in a Q&A session with current and
former Angels players, created holiday crafts, and played games on the field. Magical Builders’ Jamma
Jingles program joined the party for their ninth year, providing a new pair of pajamas to every child in
attendance. At the end of the night, each child received a toy from Santa, a pair of pajamas, and warm
holiday wishes from the Angels.
Adopt-A-School
In 2020, the Angels will select their 13th
class of adopted elementary schools for
the Adopt-A-School program. As a part of
the Adopt-A-School program, each student
receives an Angels school supplies pack
and each school will be given an allotment
of tickets for the 2020 season to be used
in their incentive programs. The Angels
Baseball Foundation will also present each
elementary school with a $2,000 grant to
go toward the education program of their
choice .
Angels AVID 8th Grade Standout Award
The Angels AVID 8th Grade Standout Award was created by the Angels Baseball Foundation in 2006.
This award provides a onetime lump-sum college scholarship to academically talented AVID students
in Orange County. A total of 56 scholars have received $4000-$10,000 upon graduation from high
