Page 13 - Overcoming Challenges
P. 13
I believe in second chances
Success requires persistence. I celebrate second chances. Second chances give me another
try to apply what I have learned from my past experiences. It is like doubling my education
and training.
Coming back for a second time also teaches me to be patient. Many worthwhile pursuits
demand significant planning and effort to attain them.
When I see how valuable second chances have been in my own life, I become more willing
to extend the same opportunity to others. I want others to know that I believe in them.
As a parent, I keep in mind that children often require time to learn their schoolwork and
master household chores. We can continue working through a geometry problem until it
finally makes sense. If the laundry turns out pink, we put those sheets aside for Valentine’s
She did
Day and start over with a new load.
I appreciate that my friends give me second chances. I am grateful for the love and support
they give me without expecting perfection. It is okay if they show up late for lunch because
it is my turn to give them another chance.
And so
At work, I ask colleagues to review projects with me to understand our strengths and
weaknesses. We look for ways to keep getting better the next time. I congratulate myself
for making a sincere effort. I am encouraged to try again.
Today, I focus on my long term objectives. If success eludes me on my first attempt, I keep
trying until I reach my goals. it too!
