Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter’s Singing Pearls participated
with the Huntsville Spiritual Chorale in their celebration of Beauty of Spirituals. Dr. Roland M. Carter
was the guest conductor for “The Spiritual Jubilee Fest: Lift Every Voice.” Selections from the
Singing Pearls included “Deep River” arranged by John Verrall and “Honor! Honor!” arranged by
Hall Johnson. The concert was June 27, 2015 at Fellowship Presbyterian Church. Heritage from Baton
Rouge, Louisiana participated as
well.
At the end of the program, the 73
voices of the Singing Pearls,
Huntsville Chorale and Heritage
performed arrangements by Dr.
Carter to include “Come Here
Jesus, If You Please,” “New
Born Again,” “You Won’t Find
A Friend Like Jesus,” “I Heard
de Preaching of de Elders,” “
Steal Away” and “Lift Every
Voice and Sing.”
MEMBERSHIP MAKES ME SMILE

The Membership Committee extends a sisterly thank you to Epsilon Gamma Omega! We asked you
to consider the purchase of bling, bling name badges to increase our ability to get to know each other
better as we put a name with a face; to increase our visibility externally as we provide various services
throughout the community; and, to increase our funds in
support of the "One Million Backpack" campaign.
Sorors, you delivered!! Distribution of many of the
approximate 200 name badges were made at the May and
June 2015 general sorority meetings.
