OZ On the Move - Omicron Zeta’s 1st Three Months

Article and Photos by: Soror Kadeidra, Omicron Zeta

The Wonderful Women of OZ kicked off the New Year strong! During the “Week
of Welcome” at UAH, OZ participated in various activities including Chillin’ with
the K’s, Make a Doughnation, an AKAdemics, and the Chargers Give Back event.

The new Sorors of OZ celebrated their first Founders’ Day by painting the UAH
monument pink and green, reminding all of campus that Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Inc is the “First.” OZ also participated in the Inaugural Martin Luther King
Jr. Day parade in downtown Huntsville.

OZ collaborated with the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta for “Pink Goes Red,” providing an
information table about heart health and health screenings. OZ collected school supplies to
support the One Million Backpacks initiative. OZ also collected canned goods to support
families within the Huntsville community. On March 12, 2015, OZ made their way to the
city of Rock ‘N’ Roll, Memphis, TN for the 83rd South Eastern Regional Conference. This
gave OZ the opportunity to fellowship with other Sorors within the region and learn more
about the sorority and its programs. These are only a few of the many activities OZ has in
store for the campus and community. Stay tuned for more great works of service from the
Wonderful Women of OZ.
