PolyU was invited to attend the 2016 Food Safety Week • Dr. Wong Ka-hing, Associate Professor of Department

City Council of Macau. In response to UNICEF’s Global of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology, PolyU
Handwashing Day, a series of activities kicked off to promote
the importance of proper handwashing in food handling and
food safety, in order to prevent the occurrence of foodborne Abstract
diseases and to optimize the protection of food safety.
Coordinated by ITDO, PolyU was invited to join InnoTech Expo
Prof. John Siu-lun Tam spoke in the “Guangdong, Hong Kong, 2016 to bring its innovation and technology development to
Macau Food Safety Experts Lecture” to share his expertise in the local young people. PolyU professors who are specialized
food safety and public health. The conference attracted over in Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, Life Science and China
150 attendees including government, industry, academia, and Business, were invited to be the speakers and panelist for
the general public. some of the talks and forums.
