How it all started
The bulk of the gangs’ members have direct
lineage to many African nations as well as
Caribbean with Jamaica at the forefront. In
1988, the first evidence of a Yardies from
Jamaica was seen when there was a shoot
out with flying squad police in Acton of West
London where the Yardies used
Submachine guns. All this violence was
centered on drug dealing and greed. In
today’s crime culture, that sort of legacy
lives on with a mix of other cultures as well
such as the Africans, etc.
