GISELLE “The Wassi One” vivacious, creative, charismatic, dynam-
ic…..there are so many applicable adjectives to describe this young
woman, who culminates 30 years of “three different generations of
music, culture and everything else” on her Tour, Life Of a Legend 30.
(LOL30) The following is a conversation with Giselle, in her own
words:
You are celebrating 30 years in the business, what has been some of
the highs and lows over the years? “The highs are the end result when
you see the people on the road having a good time. I have generations
of families in my band, starting 30 years ago, and my supporters have
been loyal from Day One, with many of no less than 10 years. The low
points are many, however I try not to think about them. Over the years I
have stayed true to myself, by not selling out any of the things that I
started with. I finance the band myself, with no support except from my
family and those that are not blood, but are loyal to me. I believe that
Great Trials lead to great jubilation.”
What progress has been made thus far with fulfilling those goals of
Wassi’s World? “We are spreading the culture and collaborating with
different entities; the Tour which I have financed, is one of the major
ingredients…imagine 3 countries in 4 days. It is closest to achieving
everything that Wassi’s World Entertainment stands for in terms of the
interchange between different islands and countries; I have done 30
Carnivals over the years, and built relationships in many of those
places. The Climax will be in Miami, where many will have the
opportunity to party and celebrate with me. The tour is a celebration of
a story, and each aspect is being documented including the Climax.”
