EDUCATION
Van Buren School District

The Van Buren School District (VBSD) is
a tremendous source of “Pointer Pride” for
the entire community. Known for its top-tier
academics and award-winning programs,
VBSD offers its nearly 6,000 students a
premier educational experience designed
to help them excel at every level.
VBSD is comprised of six elementary
schools (grades K-5), two middle schools
(grades 6-8), a freshman academy (grade
9), and one high school (grades 10-12).
The District also provides preschool, Gifted
and Talented Education, special education,
and an alternative education program.
Additionally, the District operates the River
Valley Virtual Academy.
Van Buren provides students with
diverse course options, including STEM
(Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Math) education at all grade levels. Teachers The U.S. Department of Education named VBSD’s Parkview Elementary School a 2023
