EDUCATION
offers a wealth of Advanced Placement and
concurrent credit classes. Through strategic
partnerships with regional universities,
VBSD enables secondary students to
earn college hours, complete technical
certifications, and earn associate degrees
before graduating high school. These are
provided at little or no cost, saving students
time and tuition dollars.

Having top-notch facilities that support learning and help students reach their fullest potential is a high
priority for VBSD. The District has completed numerous building and expansion projects over the past
three years. Located in the heart of town, Citizens Bank Stadium has undergone a three-phase renovation
that included new parking, entrances, signage, concessions, Pointer memorabilia store, and more. Stadium
grounds also feature a new indoor training facility for the football and soccer teams, as well as state-of-
the-art weight and conditioning equipment for student athletes. The new Pointer Activity Complex (PAC),
which opened in mid-2023, provides indoor practice and storage space for Van Buren’s band, golf, track,
softball, and baseball teams. The District also constructed a new auxiliary gym at Northridge Middle
School in 2023 and debuted its renovated Clair Bates Arena at Van Buren High School. Such projects are a
testament to the continued growth of VBSD and its award-winning programs, as well as to the community
which strongly supports and invests in the District. Photo courtesy VBSD.
