2. THE MIRACLES OF ELISEUS IN THE KINGDOM OF JUDA
WhileAchabwasrulingovertheKingdomofIsrael, Ja 's Josaphat was king of Juda. He was a wise and peaceĀ loving king. He remained true to God all the days of
his life.
While Josaphat was king, there was peace in his country. The people turned their attention to the trades. They cared for the farms and the pastures of the country, so that the crops and herds were large and good. Josaphat appointed judges in all the chief cities.
The kings of Juda who succeeded Josaphat were weak and sinful. The kings of Israel who succeeded Achab were also evil men. They worshiped idols and forced the people to follow their example. War, disĀ ease, and death followed as the punishment of the sinful lives of these kings.
