366 CHRIST PREPARES TO REDEEM THE WO D
"Go, call thy husband to come hither," said Jesus to the woman. She said, ''I have no husband.'' Jesus said to her,"Thou hast said well, 'I have no husband,' for thou hast had  ve husbands, and he whom thou hast now is not thy husband. Thou hast answered truly.''
The fact that Jesus seemed to know the hidden secrets of her life startled the woman, and she changed her tone. "Sir," she said,"I can see that thou art a prophet. Now, our fathers adored here on Mount Garizim and Thou, being a Jew, say that Jerusalem is the place where men must adore.''
Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, that the hour cometh when you shall neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem adore the Father. You adore that which you know not. We adore that which we know. For salvation is from the Jews. For the hour cometh and now is when true adorers shall adore the Father in spirit and in truth. God is a spirit, and they that adore Him must adore Him in spirit and in truth."
The woman said, ''I know that the Messias will come, and when He is come He will tell us all things.'' Jesus said to her, "I am He Who am speaking wit  thee.''
By this time the apostles had made their purchases  I  in the town and, returning to Jesus, were very much   surprised to see Him talking to a Samaritan woman.
But the woman left her waterpot standing at the well and ran away into the city. She stopped everyone sh  met and said, ''Come, and see a man  o has told me all things whatsoever I have done.
