great waves were dashing against the sides of the boat, and over the gunwhales. They began to ship a great amount of water and it looked as though the boat would surely sink.
All the while Jesus was sleeping peacefully. The apostles came to Him and waked Him, saying, "Lord, save us, we perish." Jesus said to them, "Why are you fearful, 0 ye of little faith f" Then, rising up, He rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Peace, be still.'' The wind ceased, and it became very calm.
Filled with wonder, the apostles said to one another, "Who is this, for both the winds and the sea obey Him1''
