Sight
One day, Jesus was going along the road that leads from Jericho to Jerusalem, and a great crowd of peo ple were following Him. Two blind men sat by the roadside, begging. The name of one of them was Bartimeus. Hearing all the noise and the talking as the multitude passed by, Bartimeus stopped some of the people and asked them what it meant. They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. No sooner had he heard this than he began to cry out with a loud voice, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on us." So much noise did he make that some of the people tried to stop him and told him to hold his peace. But he and his companion cried out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on us." Hearing their cry, Jesus stopped and commanded the blind men to come to Him. When they came, He said, " Vhat will you that I do for you?'' They said, '' Lord, that we may see.'' Jesus had pity on them and touched their eyes with His nger. Immediately they received their sight and joined the crowd that was following after Him.
