work the works of Him that sent Me whilst it is day. The night cometh when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.''
Then He stooped down and spat on the ground and, making clay of the spittle, He spread  e clay upon  e eyes of the blind man. Then He said to him, '' Go,  sh in the Pool of Siloe.''
So the blind man went to the Pool of Siloe, washed  s eyes, and came back with his sight restored.
All this happened on the Sabbath Day. Therefore, the neighbors of the man who had been blind thought that the whole matter should be reported to the author­ ities. So they brought him to the Pharisees, who asked him how he had received his sight, but he said to them, ''He put clay upon my eyes, and I washed, and I see.'' Hearing this, some of the Pharisees said, ''This man is not of God, who keepeth not the Sabb h.'' Others said, ''How can a man that is a sinner do such mir­ a es?'' And they started to dispute  ong them­ selves.
At last they hit upon a scheme. They sent for the man who had been blind and said to him, "Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.'' He said to them, "If he be a sinner, I know  t. One thing I know, that whereas I was blind, now I see." " at did he do to thee T'' they asked. '' How did he open thy eyes?" "I have  ld you already," he answered, ''and you have heard. Why should you hear it again T Do you  so want to become His disciples T''
