THE BLI  MEN BEG JESUS   CURE THEM
Once when Jesus and His apostles were walking   through the narrow streets of Jerusalem, they met a  
bom man who was blind from his birth. He sat against the bDnd
wall, calling out to the people who passed by and beg­ ging them for alms. The apostles asked our Lord, ''Master, who hath sinned, this man or  s parents, that he should be born blind?'' They asked this be­ cause it was the common belief among the Jews at that time that all sickness and disease were a direct punish­
ment from God for some sin that had been committed. Jesus answered, "N0ither hath this man sinned nor his parents. But he hath been born blind that the power of God may be made visible in him. I must
