Before Abraham died, he sent Eliezer, his servant, to Haran to seek a bride for Isaac. The servant took camels and many gifts with him. When he arrived at Haran, he waited at a well outside the city ere the maidens came to draw water. He called upon God to help him, saying, ''0 Lord, the God of my master Abraham, show kindness to him.
